The Harger Company opened its first Bskin-Robbins Ice Cream store in Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1969. The Bragg Boulevard location was the first Baskin-Robbins outlet in
North Carolina.
Owned and operated by Robert and Pauline Harger, the Harger Company opened a second location in Cross Creek Mall in 1975. A third store, on Owen Drive followed in 1982. By 1988, the Harger Company owned and operated nine locations in Fayetteville, Hope Mills, Greensboro, High Point, Raleigh, and Cary. Desiring to lessen the work load and focus on their hometown Fayetteville business, the Harger Company sold off the ou of town franchises in 1994 and 1995. The Cross Creek Mall store moved to its present location on the corner of Morganton Road and Skibo Road durin the same period. The daily operation of the Compnay has now passed to a second generation as Roberta Harger has come to manage most affairs of the business. she hopes to carry on the legacy of her father and mother in providing Fayetteville and the surrounding community with a fun and delicious treat for all. |
